LE CAFE NOIR

Good first visit, service excellent but on second visit we waited 1 1/4 hours for our food, no explanation until I asked the waitress eventually it arrived, food was not very warm. Decided not to return again.

If you are visiting Nice France, be sure to dine at this café. Service was just OK but the food was very good, best fries I’ve ever tasted. The drinks were excellent, especially the strawberry Mojito. Located in Old Town near the beach.

Very good food, average service, a bit crowded and noisy A restaurant with a broad menu with salads, burgers, steaks, meats and fish like many US family style places. Décor similar to the style also. We had a burger. Large patty of freshly ground beef. Good sear on the outside while juicy inside, well-seasoned. Toppings were lettuce, tomato, onions. No mayonnaise or other needed as the burger was great as presented. The fries were hot, crisp, plentiful. A good bottle of Bordeaux and a local lager for beverages. Dessert were a molten chocolate cake. Hot, soft, saucy, terrific. The crème brulee was rich with a perfect crunchy, sugar crust. Service from staff was average. Staff had a large crowd to service and sometimes it was hard to get their attention.

I had a lovely meal here. Great staff, but busy. They let my dog in and were sweet to her. I ordered the €13 meal for a starter and main. It was really superb. Warm goats cheese salad. Then some fish that was cooked beautifully. Highly recommended. I would have taken photos, but I just wanted to eat the nice food.

It wasn’t bad but also not good. The staff are very friendly, however, the forgot our order a few times. The fries are a bit small and not tasty that much.
