Les Touristes Châtelard

Maribel and Norbert are great host, they really created a family atmosphere in this wonderful place. The rooms are clean and well equipped, we had everything we needed. The restaurant part is very cosy. Maribel made sure that you feel like home, offering great service and speaks at least 3 languages. Norbert is a great cook, I highly recommend to try his onion soup, fondue, steak or burger, The location of the place is very convenient if you would like to ski in the Chamonix - Mount Blanc area. The French border is ~20 meters away, you can either drive to one of the next villages where the skilifts are located, or take the train, the station is just 10 meters away.

We stayed here on our 6th day of hiking TMB. Maribel is a fantastic host. She is friendly and attentive and even drove us to the start of our hike the next day when the bus didn't come. Chatelard is an easy bus ride from Trient, and this hotel is a lot cheaper. It's also right by the train station. We enjoyed a nice dinner and breakfast. The food is excellent! Rooms are cozy and clean. We had a balcony that overlooked the street.

On my last stretch of TMB and didn’t want to camp out anymore so I booked the room last minute. Absolutely amazing and generous host. Great breakfast, clean room, very nice hot shower. Will absolutely stay here again

Had a two-night stay here. Lovely accommodation with excellent en-suite facilities. Excellent breakfast and wider food and drink options. Would recommend very highly!

Unable to find lodging in the Trient Valley while hiking the TMB we were directed to this family run hotel, and it turn out to be great. Maribel and her husband went far and beyond to welcoming us. The food was amazing. The proximity to the Chamonix train is a big plus. This hotel will be in our future winter and summer plans. We highly recommend it!

While hiking the TMB, my mother and I were unable to secure lodging in Trient or La Peuty. We were directed to Les Touristes and were not disappointed! Our stay was wonderful and it was Maribel herself who made the experience so memorable. We had exquisite homemade burgers for dinner, “wine of the moment,” and dessert. Upon request, Maribel had a delightful breakfast waiting for us in the morning. Would definitely recommend!!

I stayed two nights here and it was a really great experience. It’s a start/end point for several alpine tour hiking sections (Route 6, TMB) as well as right by the train station for easy access to Chamonix and Lac d’Emosson. Though I didn’t hear the train at all. Maribel is so welcoming and accommodating! The food was excellent (especially the homemade pizza!) and the rooms are clean and very comfortable with great showers. Highly recommend this hotel!

Very friendly staff, confortable room right next to station and good restaurant offering a variety of dishes. We walked around in the evening and found a delightful waterfall on the French side of the border. Highly recommend this hotel!
