Decided to choose this Brand of Restaurants is known to us in Poitiers & Niort. The young person who met us to ask if we had a reservation was pleasant and welcoming. We asked to sit inside, despite it being a warm day, because our experience is that most outside spaces in France allow smokers & vapours. Our order was taken but not much info on the types of beer available, so OH had to guess what was comparable to what he knows. The wait was a while, no probs except we got a constant stream of smoke from the smokers outside wafting through the open door, which wasn't pleasant. We asked to move over the far side of the restaurant, which was almost empty. The more mature lady who took our order didn't look one bit pleased and initially said "erm no". But the younger person who was looking after that side of the restaurant was more accommodating. Waiting a little longer, food arrived and looked ok. On eating, my salad seemed to have a lot of old hard bits of duck in it, and the toast on which the foiegras sat was so hard I couldn't eat it. The rest was ok. OH had beef brochette which he said was ok. We left feeling it was over priced for food & drinks and won't be returning. Contrast this with an excellent meal we experience on Sunday just 2 km away, there is no comparison. We choose this thinking the standards would be the same as Poitiers & Niort. Maybe a little more attention to customer service from some staff, especially post covid & its impact, might encourage more customers and visitors to the area to return.
